Welcome to the web site ("ACLU.TV Site") for the television shows produced by the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation ("ACLU Foundation") (collectively, "ACLU Foundation"). Please read this User Agreement carefully, including the ACLU Online Privacy Statement. By using the ACLU.TV Site, you agree to follow the rules set forth on these Web pages. From time to time we may revise this User Agreement including its Online Privacy Statement, so be sure to check these Web pages occasionally. If we do make material changes, we will post a notice on our home page that the User Agreement has been modified and provide a link to the revised User Agreement. When you continue to use the ACLU.TV Site after we post a change, it means you agree to the new rules.
Please note that this is not the User Agreement for the general web site of the American Civil Liberties Union and the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation (the “ACLU General Web Site”). Copyright and Other Intellectual Property Matters
All of the materials on the ACLU.TV Site is (1) owned by the ACLU Foundation, (2) licensed to the ACLU through a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.0 License or (3) software licensed to the public and used by the ACLU pursuant to the General Public License. These materials, including text, graphics, logos, button icons, audio clips, photographs, and software, are protected by United States and international copyright laws and other intellectual property laws.
ACLU Content. All of the text, logos, photographs, images, graphics, video and other interactive features on the ACLU.TV Site (“ACLU Content”) is owned or licensed by the ACLU Foundation.

Pursuant to the CCL (and subject to its more specific terms), you may copy, distribute, display, perform, make derivative works of and make commercial use of the CCL Content, as long as (1) you attribute the CCL Content to “CivicActions, LLC”, (2) if you alter, transform or build upon the CCL Content, you distribute, display, perform, and make commercial use of the work only under a license identical to the CCL and (3) if you re-use or distribute, display, perform, and make commercial use of the CCL Content, you make clear to others the CCL terms. You may not display, distribute, perform or otherwise use the CCL Content in any manner other than as described above without the written permission in advance of the creator of the CCL Content. The Drupal software and associated customizations that comprise the content management and underlying database systems (“GPL Content”) is licensed to the ACLU pursuant to the General Public License (“GPL”) and may be distributed solely under the terms of the GPL. Pursuant to the GPL (and subject to its more specific terms), you may copy, distribute, display, perform, make derivative works of and make commercial use of the GPL Content as long as any distribution, display, performance and commercial use of the GPL Content is subject to the terms of the GPL. Programmers’ Code. To learn which portions of the ACLU.TV Site programmers’ code is ACLU Content, CCL Content or GPL Content, refer to programmers’ messages in the source code content. All code not identified as GPL Content or CCL Content is ACLU Content.
Trademark
AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION, AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION FOUNDATION, ACLU, ACLU FOUNDATION, the FREEDOM FILES and any other trademarks on the ACLU.TV Site (other than trademarks specifically relating to the CCL Content or the GPL Content (collectively "ACLU Trademarks") are trademarks of the ACLU in the United States and other countries unless explicitly stated otherwise on the ACLU.TV Site (a “Third-Party Trademark”). You may not use the ACLU Trademarks for any product or service that does not belong to the ACLU Foundation, nor in any manner that is likely to cause confusion about whether we are the source, affiliated with, sponsor of or endorser of any product or service. In addition, you may not use the ACLU Trademarks in any manner that disparages or discredits us.
Unless your use of a Third-Party Trademark in a specific manner is permissible under the law, your ability to use that Third-Party Trademark and the manner, if any, in which you may use that trademark is limited to the extent (i) the ACLU.TV Site explicitly states on the page on which such Third-Party Trademark appears that such use in such manner is authorized by the third-party owner of that Third-Party Trademark or (ii) the third-party owner has authorized you to use the Third-Party Trademark in such manner.
Links, Frames and Metatags
As long as the link does not cast us in a false or misleading light, you may link to the home page of the ACLU.TV Site in the manner described on the page reached via clicking here. You may not frame the content of the ACLU.TV Site. You may not use metatags or any other “hidden text” that incorporates our Trademarks or our name without our express written consent.
Links to Other Web Sites
The ACLU.TV Site contains links to other websites that we think may be of interest to you. We have no control over these other sites or their content. Remember that when you link to another site, that other site is governed by its own user agreement and privacy statement, which you should be sure to read.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
ALTHOUGH WE INTEND TO TAKE REASONABLE STEPS TO PREVENT THE INTRODUCTION OF VIRUSES, WORMS, “TROJAN HORSES” OR OTHER DESTRUCTIVE MATERIALS TO THE ACLU.TV SITE, WE DO NOT GUARANTEE OR WARRANT THAT THE ACLU.TV SITE OR MATERIALS THAT MAY BE DOWNLOADED FROM THE ACLU.TV SITE ARE FREE FROM SUCH DESTRUCTIVE FEATURES. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR HARM ATTRIBUTABLE TO SUCH FEATURES.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, LOSS OR INJURY BASED ON ERRORS, OMISSIONS, INTERRUPTIONS OR OTHER INACCURACIES IN THE ACLU.TV SITE, NOR FOR ANY CLAIM, LOSS OR INJURY THAT RESULTS FROM YOUR USE OF THE ACLU.TV SITE OR YOUR BREACH OF ANY PROVISION OF THIS USER AGREEMENT.
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate the ACLU.TV Site and this User Agreement at any time without notice for any reason, including, in the case of the User Agreement, for your violation of any of its provisions. The Limitation of Liability and Governing Law Sections of this User Agreement survive any such termination.
Governing Law
This User Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New York applicable to contracts made and performed there without regard to its conflicts of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in the State and County of New York and waive any jurisdictional, venue or inconvenient forum objections to such courts.
